A diptych of rusted circular industrial forms, featuring a heating coil and corroded pipe opening, emphasizing oxidation and decay.
A discarded stove was a good find on some morning walk right down the street in my neighborhood, doubly so as it had one of the heating coils removed and resting on the scarred top surface. It made for a wonderful spiraling shape and crud on the center part made it all the more visually appealing, adding a textured golden color. I paired the stove coil to a rusty hole/pipe that is what one sees if a fire hydrant body has been removed. The jagged edges of the concrete add an extra irregular dimension to the round shape. A shared rusty color and a textured off-white background made them visually good companions.
