This 'Seeing Red' artwork features a side-by-side composition of two sections, each displaying a grid of round, raised tactile dots used for pedestrian safety. The left section has a red background with darker tones and a black vertical stripe, contrasted by a spill of white. The right section presents a predominantly white background with prominent red dots, some showing signs of wear. The consistent grid pattern and textured surfaces emphasize the tactile quality of the piece, blending urban functionality with artistic expression. Do you know what these dots are called? Interestingly they are referred to officially as “truncated domes”.
