This piece is the most literal of the 'Seeing Red' series, showing street markings painted on the red surface of a bus lane. It is a striking composition of red, black, and white. It is also the image where light plays a starring role; the red background seems to glow, while the distressed white lettering echos the texture found in the red surface. The left panel shows the letters "CK" from the word "TRUCK" (but do you have other associations?!) while the right panel presents a portion of the letters from an inverted position. I particularly like the area of faint overlay (a mistake I’m sure!) of red paint lightly over the black and white of the ‘K’; the markings seem to disintegrate before your eyes. The contrast between worn paint and fresh red tones adds an urban, gritty aesthetic, creating a vivid and dynamic visual experience.

Print Info

Just the Print: Archival pigment print (giclée) on a heavy weight fine-art paper. Paper used is Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta, a 100% cotton paper having a coating with a slight sheen that better reproduces the color red.

Framed: Giclée fine-art print float mounted (a narrow gap between the edge of the print and the frame) in a walnut shadow box frame with museum-grade anti-reflective, UV protective plexiglass. Ready to hang.

Acrylic: Print is face-mounted flush to 1/8" thick digital grade acrylic and rear-mounted to dibond, having a float aluminum cleat subframe. Ready to hang.

Multi-Panels [Acrylic Only]: Two prints face-mounted flush to 1/4" thick digital grade acrylic with a diamond polished edge and rear-mounted to dibond, having a float aluminum cleat subframe. Ready to hang. Mostly for commercial use.
