Shot on the same roll as Three Kings of Times Square, this panoramic work renders the billboards and signage of Times Square as a swirling, electrified field of overlapping light. Neon colors, architectural forms, and fragments of advertisement merge into a composition that is simultaneously documentary and abstract, capturing the relentless visual energy of the square after dark. The accumulation of overlapping frames amplifies the sense of spectacle, producing an image as dense and saturated as the environment it depicts.
Part of Susan Bowen's Holgaramas series, exploring the visual complexity of the city through continuous, overlapping frames.
