Captured at the elevated Smith and 9th Street station in Brooklyn, this panoramic work layers the departure of a G train into a continuous composition of motion, light, and urban texture. Figures exiting and waiting on the platform blur and overlap with the silver of the train cars, while muted purples and browns merge with the dusk sky to produce a palette at once atmospheric and precise. The angles created by the overlapping frames bring the image alive with a kinetic energy particular to the transit moment.
Part of Susan Bowen's Holgaramas series, exploring the visual complexity of the city through continuous, overlapping frames.
